Brain in a Vat Product Studio
The studio where the tools I built for my own day become software other people can use.
Every product in the Brain in a Vat Product Studio started as a fix for a part of my own day that was just a bit worse than it ought to be. Dubs exists because I was briefing agents from memory after walks. Writ exists because my audio kept landing on the wrong device between calls. Neither began as a product. At some point I stopped treating these instances of scratching my own itch as a distraction from the work and made it another side of the work.
These products reflect the same idea behind everything I build: work should be playable. I want tools familiar and dependable enough that I can concentrate on what I'm doing without thinking about how to operate them. Dubs lets me listen to a document and capture thoughts as they come, without returning to a keyboard. Writ keeps my audio on the devices I prefer, removing an interruption I used to deal with every day. Both give me more freedom to stay with an idea.
